TEFC NEMA Motor (IP55)
The TEFC motor has an external shaft mounted fan that use the surrounding air for cooling. The motor is protected against dust and water jets. The principle of this motor acc. bellow:
Dust-protected motor: In dust-protected motor, some dust can ingress the motor but it does not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the motor's operation.
Protected against water jets motor : Water projected by a nozzle against the motor from any direction shall have no harmful effect.
Method of cooling:
Frame surface cooled motor: The primary coolant is circulated in a closed circuit in the motor and gives its heat through the external surface of the motor (in addition to the heat transfer via the stator core and other heat conducting parts) to the final coolant which is the surrounding medium. The surface may be plain or ribbed, with or without an outer shell to improve the heat transfer.
Self circulation:The coolant is moved dependent on the rotational speed of the main motor either by action of the rotor alone or by means of a component designed for this purpose and mounted directly on the rotor of the main motor, or by a fan or pump unit mechanically driven by the rotor or the main motor
WPII NEMA motor (IP24W)
This weather-protected motor has a shaft-mounted cooling fan located inside the housing. The designof the motor reduces the ingress of rain, snow and airborne particles into the electrical parts. On the air intake path this is achieved by ensuring that the average velocity does not exceed 3 m/s, allowing any heavier particles to settle. The design of air intake path includes three acute changes in excess of 90 degrees to further reduce the flow rate to optimum level. The motor is protected against splashing water from any direction.- Weather-protected Motor TYPE II (WPII) acc. to NEMA MG1 - 126.96.36.199. The corresponding WPII design acc. to IEC 34 is IC01 IPW24.
TEAAC NEMA motor (IP55)
In this design the fully enclosed motor has an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft mounted fans are fitted both inside and outside of the casing to supply the inside and outside cooling circuits respectively. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.- Totally-enclosed air-to-air-cooled Motor (TEAAC) acc. to NEMA MG1 - 1.26.9. The corresponding YKK design acc. to IEC 34 is IC611 IP55.
TEWAC NEMA motor(IP55)
This fully enclosed motor is fitted with an air-to-water heat exchanger. A shaft mounted fan is fitted inside the casing to supply the internal cooling circuit. Motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction. The terminal boxes have a protection of at least IP55 - Totally-enclosed water-air-cooled Motor (TEWAC) acc. to NEMA MG1 - 1.26.8. The corresponding YKS design acc. to IEC 34 is IC81W IP55.
